I've officially reached the point in life where I am very skeptical about good deals, so when I see a MCM inspired sofa that also converts to a bed for $649 I start to wonder. That being said, this Modern Yellow Sofa Bed does look pretty sweet. To sweeten the deal up, there is free shipping within the 5 boroughs of NYC.
So who's going to check this one out for us?

Hello there beautiful geometric shapes and colors. Yes, you do look fantastic both on that quilt and on those cards.
Carson Too makes some of the absolutely most beautiful modern quilts on Etsy, but if you don't have the funds for a big purchase you can still get in on the goodness by picking up a set of his greeting cards. I suggest getting some cards now, and starting saving for the quilt for Christmas. You deserve it.

White on white with a skinny steel frame? Sounds perfect to me! Add a 20" diameter and this is one show-stopping, minimalist-style clock!

One of our more well traveled readers turned me on to Menu a fantastic Scandinavian company that he found in South Africa of all places. No matter where you are though, you have to admit they makes some beautiful stuff. I'm particularly enamored with these Norm Bottle Grinders for salt and pepper. Enamored as in I am currently considering which organ I am willing to donate to get my hands on a set. The only US retailer is in Carlsbad, CA so it looks like its time for a road trip.

I'm always a little hesitant to post about furniture from Urban Outfitters, especially when it is available online only, but I remember what a hard time I had trying to find an affordable rocking chair for the nursery 4 years ago. With that in mind may I introduce you to the Mid-Century Rocker Chair. It looks good, and from the comments it seems like the biggest complaint is that it is scaled pretty small. Priced at $289 it is fairly inexpensive by rocker standards. For example the Nurseryworks Storytime Rocker we had retailed for $800 (now you can find them for $499 from websites like babycribstation.com et al). That is nearly double, but I will say however that the Storytime is a bomber piece of furniture that will last a very very long time.

We've posted about iPad, iPhone, and laptop sleeves galore but it's good to see the Kindle* finally getting some love! It doesn't hurt that I've got a soft spot for anything made from wool felt, but throw a little leather into that mix too and it's a surefire hit. So, to the Rustic Case Company I say: Nicely done!
* I love my** Kindle!
** I should clarify: I love my husband's Kindle that I have since co-opted.
I thought these key shelves were a pretty novel idea. The shelf gives you a spot to empty your pockets as you come in the door, and it has a groove cut into it made especially for hanging your keys. Simple, intelligent, practical.

Summer is here and if you are lucky, that means one thing. The beach. I may be land locked in Utah, but that's not about to stop me from getting in some quality time laying on the beach this summer. Fab.com has an ingenious little beach chair called the Beach Thingy. It is essentially just the back of a chair that you can jab into the sand to make the perfect sandy lounge. It's lightweight, colorful, and best of all inexpensive.
Beach Thingy $14
Looks like the world's gone minimalist thanks to Japanese company Nendo. This gorgeous black and white globe is available in two sizes and, I've got to say, would look pretty dang sweet in any modernist's home!
I love architecture, so it almost goes without saying that I love architecture related art work. Delaflamant on Etsy does an amazing job of detailed making architectural drawings even more interesting by connecting several thousand lines together and adding a pop of color. Each print is hand silk screened on 80# French speckletone cream stock paper and measures 24 x 36.
Square by Delaflamant $60

Unfortunately for me, I don't have a dog any more, but if I did I would seriously be considering this dog bed by Pet Lounge Studio. The Bambu Pet Hammock is not only one of the most original dog beds I have ever seen, its definitely one of the better looking and more practical. As with any kickstarter project, it only goes into production if enough people support it, but with already $10,000 pledged and 22 days to go, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that this one is almost a slam dunk for getting funded.

Accordion pleats never looked so good! Especially when applied to Crate & Barrel's newest lighting series, what with its distinct MCM flair. Choose between three styles (cylinder, hourglass, megaphone) and your choice of white, black, or orange.
Summertime is here and it's time to break out the grill. Unfortunately for me my big grill I had isn't exactly conducive to loft living so my good friends are currently grill-sitting it for me. I still want to get in on the action though, so I've been looking for an ultra portable, inexpensive and attractive charcoal grill. While that sounds like a tough order to fill, I think that I may have struck gold with the Fire Sense HotSpot Notebook Charcoal grill. Despite having one of the longest, most awkward names, it actually looks pretty amazing. When not in use it folds down to 18 x 18 x 1. Yes one inch thin as Steve Jobs would say. All this for just $37. Not too shabby.

One of our awesome readers posted this on our Facebook wall yesterday, and I thought it was good enough to share with everyone. This 2lb box from Anthropologie is made from cast iron so it's small but substantial. It could just be the perfect place for you to hide some little treasure that you have. Best of all, it's on sale for just $8.

As you know, we're big fans of wood toys here at GRM, so when I spotted these charming toys from Just Hatched I couldn't resist sharing them with you! With a focus on nature, each set is handmade from either Poplar or Birch, then painted with AP Nontoxic paints and polished with natural homemade beeswax. So far, you can have your pick between a wooden leaf puzzle (6 leaf shapes: Oak, Beech, Ivy, Dogwood, Maple and Cottonwood), bear set (2 bears, cave, rock, and tree), or a veggie set (Tomato, Cucumber, Onion, Potato and Carrot)!
Remember when simple things like spray bottles were well designed and made to last forever? Yeah, me either, but I wish I did. Those must have been the good old days.

Usually I'm saying that I wished I would have thought of this. This time I'm saying I did think of this, and now I wish I would have actually done it. The c/dock is a new Kickstarter project for all of you who use your iPhone as an alarm clock. Made from a solid piece of Walnut with either an aluminum face, or a glossy resin face. The c/dock incorporates a usb cable into the mix to keep your iPhone charged up for you.
Honestly I would have like a plain walnut face option, but besides that the execution seems pretty great. If you like it, support it.

These lights are undeniably inspired by Niche Modern (especially their Pod Light), but considering these only cost $99 versus the Pod's $900, I'm not complaining too loudly. West Elm's version is available in two sizes and your choice of grey or sea green.
Unfortunately for me (and you) this classic white enamelware salad bowl designed by Kaj Franck for Arabia Finland is sold. Which really sucks because I wanted it.
Now I need your help. What are your favorite online stores to shop for Scandinavian home accessories?

Up until yesterday if you would have asked me where to get good mid century modern tile, I would have said Heath Ceramics was the only place. But that was yesterday. Now I've got my eye on Clayhaus. They may be the new kid on the block, but they have a very strong line up of modern tiles. The influence of early modernists is apparent in everything from their Bauhaus inspired name down to their fantastic color palette. Icing on the cake for me is the fact that it is all done by a small husband wife team. I love supporting the little guys.
