Yes please! The dishes from Danish company Bloomingville are absolutely amazing. Great color and pattern, and the price isn't bad either. Now if I could just find a place stateside that carries them.
I love my Karim Rashid designed Slice scissors, but I have to admit, these Craft Design Technology scissors are pretty sweet. Made by Lion and hard to find outside of Japan, the $80 is a bit steep up front, but it's something that will last a lifetime.
Honestly I'm not usually one to get all excited about things as geeky as memory sticks, but these empty MEMORY, USB memory sticks from Logical Art have got my full attention.
Be still my heart. It looks like there are some new pillows at DWR with amazing fabric by the legendary Alexander Girard. While there are several prints available, my personal favorite is the "Arabesque" in Persimmon shown above. DWR exclusive.
In nearly all mass produced objects, the final outcome is divorced from its origin, from the process of production. Brilliant Cut's functional reference to the lamp guard and visual reference to the diamond also go to connect the final refined form of an elegantly cut diamond with its own process of production: diamonds are mined, lamp guards are used in mines.
Brilliant Cut

It seems like my inbox has been bulging lately with all sorts of great Kickstarter projects. The Bike Valet is one that you definitely don't want to miss, especially if you are a bike geek. Made from 1/8" powder coated steel, it's as strong as it is good looking. As with all things that I love, it's the small details that make it work, like the leather lining on the section that touches your frame, and the notch where the two pieces of metal come together. If you are on the fence, and looking for a little more emotional incentive to support the project, read about the devastating robbery the owner/designer Steven recently had in his shop.
It's funny how for a long time it was really really hard to find a radio. Not a radio/CD/whatever player, just a radio. I like that the REVO Heritage is just a radio. The look is clean, simple uncluttered. The fact that it is an internet radio means that it's so much more. There is a lot of tech packed into that gorgeous black oak and aluminum body.
Curse you Emmas Designblogg for constantly showing me all sorts of wonderful Scandinavian products that I will never be able to have. Like this matte white fire extinguisher developed by Asplund and Brandsläckaren.se. So much want.
I've been a fan of stainless steel cups for years now, mostly because I'm hard on things and have a tendency to break delicate items. I can't help but think my house would be a little more cheerful if my collection of stainless steel cups were painted like these Lolita cups from India. Available in 4 colors and patterns. Hand wash only.
Yep, it's officially cold outside. Crane has a series of rather handsome space heaters, but I am particularly smitten with this EE-6490 Space Heater. What it lacks in an appeasing name, it makes up for with it's great looks and affordable price. 12,000 watts of pure ceramic heat can be yours for only $35.
It's Tuesday, you have been working hard all day, you deserve a little treat. Do yourself a favor and head on over to Design House Stockholm and download their newly released 2012 catalogue. You won't be sorry.
Everyone knows that we are huge fans of felt here at GRM and when you add a little leather into the mix you get the perfect combination. The diFeltro Fold is an American designed but Italian made carrier for your iPad or other sundry electronic items. I love the pallet of materials, and the execution looks pretty top notch as well. It's not surprising then that the kickstarter campaign is already fully funded and still has 21 days to go.
I just found out that one of my favorite living architects is no longer living. Famous, or perhaps infamous Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer died at 104 years old yesterday. I spent a few years in Brazil, so I have a deep love for the country and its people. I love Oscar as much for his work as I do for his personality. Passionate about life, women and buildings to the very end, he will be missed.
I'm sure there will be lot's of great retrospectives written about him in the coming hours and days. In the meantime check out the fantastic 2010 documentary LIfe is a Breath of Air about Oscar Niemeyer and his life. Hopefully the youtube link below stays up for a while.
I think it's only appropriate to close out the week with a little color. French Riviera anyone? This bold A3 sized print designed by DavidDavid is just the thing to add a little cheer to anyones day. Part of a signed edition of 100. If you love his bold pattern and color, make sure you check out his t shirts and scarves (ohh, those lovely scarves) on Bigcartel.
It's been a while since I perused Kickstarter but I've been finding all sorts of great projects the last couple of days. This one I'm particularly excited about because #1 it's and awesome concepts that is well executed, and #2 it's SLC based! The ODDIO1 cord free shuffle headphones are exactly what the name implies, a pair of headphones for your iPod shuffle that have, surprise, no cord. It's a solid idea, and the product design looks great. Most of all I can't believe that they are only $35. Let's show them some support!
I love things that can be personalized. It makes me feel just a little bit less of a part of the machine. TOAST is here to personalize your iPhone with classy laser cut wood veneers. They have 8 standard designs, and you can add any text yo want to them. It's a decent little kickstarter project that needs some serious kickstarting to make it's deadline in 6 days. If you like it, spread the word, and quick.
It's winter. It's cold. What you need is a nice heater to snuggle up next to while you work during the day. I think I can say with all honestly that the Anna ceramic heater by Swizz Style is the best looking little heater I have ever seen. Normally $99 Gilt Home has it on sale for $75 starting today (or $59 for the little Anna). Also make sure to check out the Anton humidifier we've blogged about in the past.
