OK everyone, if you aren't already following Love Nordic its time to get on board. Yesterday Samantha posted about this fantastic Lamino chair that I had never heard of before. It's made by Swedese and comes with a whole range of different upholstery choices. The side table is also made by Swedese. Make sure you check out the rest of the photos on Love Nordic that include an amazing blend of plywood and sheepskin pulled off like only the Scandinavians can do.

Part alarm clock, part iPhone dock, this handsome beech wood number from Jonas Damon certainly is clever. Extra bonus? The alarm clock app is free with purchase.

I love these illustrative style prints by London artist Clare Shields. The works are printed using fade resistant archival inks onto German Etching paper. They are limited to an edition of 30.

In Utah, modern comes in all sorts of different shapes and sizes. Sometimes you will even find amazing modern interiors hiding inside the 4 walls of an innocent looking bungalow. Such is the case with 2250 Keller Ln. This 1950's bungalow has gotten a complete overhaul inside and has some really tasteful modern touches. Check out more pictures after the jump and let me know what you think.

Hey, everybody's gotta go sometime. If you're fond of the ol' "light a match" trick, perhaps you'll appreciate this toilet paper dispenser from NYC-based goodjoy design. Made from glazed stoneware, it features an inset matchbox holder and can be wall mounted or set into drywall. Available in white or black.
Earlier this year I mentioned that I was falling deeper and deeper in love with scandinavian design. More recently on pinterest I have been obsessing over farmhouse tables in modern settings. So it was pretty much unavoidable that I would fall in love with the picture of these FermLiving Marionette dishes at Huset. I love the bold color and pattern juxtaposed with the raw wood table and stark white built in shelving in the background. Yes, I just used "love" three times in 4 sentences. Deal with it.

I'm enjoying the visual stylings of Swiss illustrator Jürg Lindenberger on this fine, fine Monday. May I suggest a peek through his portfolio? You won't regret it. Swears.
The big news for me at the Herman Miller NeoCon booth this year was a new wood option for the amazing Eames Lounge chair and Ottoman. You have been able to get it in while leather for a while now, but Herman Miller is introducing a new white ash wood veneer. The look is fairly subtle, in fact I didn't really notice it until Eames Demetrios pointed it out to me. Upon closer inspection you can see that they have white powder coated the base and back frame as well.

To go with it they are also doing the Noguchi coffee table in the same white ash. Both pieces will be available in September
All my NeoCon pictures are finally up on Flickr
Anyone who has read this blog for a while knows what a soft spot I have for anything felt. Special thanks to GRM Michelle who sent in a link to these felt Bubble Dot Sleeves by MIO Culture. These 100% felt sleeves come in a couple different sizes, and can be used for iPads or laptops.
On a side note, when I told Michelle I was swooning over these now, she said men don't swoon.
Michelle. I swoon.

I was instantly drawn to Noël's work the moment I saw it on The Design Files (they posted a very, very good interview with the artist, which you can read right here). I've always been a huge fan of abstract art, but I love the energy and movement in Noël's pieces. Check out more of her work below, including some great large-scale installations!

It's not uncommon in the design blog world to see a cool idea that never makes it to market. When the Flexible Love expandable furniture pieces were first being featured everywhere I figured they would never be available. I'm happy to report I'm wrong. Industry Gallery in DC is now the exclusive US seller of the Flexible Love line. I was also pleasantly surprised to see how affordable they are too. Pricing is between $200 - $800, which for something that seats 8 - 16 people, is pretty amazing.

I haven't quite decided yet if this is a bad idea, or a brilliant one. The "Adjust-a-Bowl" soft cork bowl is made from 100% cork fabric. No, I have no idea what that means, but here is a description of what it feels like. "...it's smooth, warm, and pliable – almost leather-like – though it's made entirely from cork." Generally speaking I really like cork, and this sounds like it would be pretty cool. Anyone seen one in person?

I love husband wife design teams, especially ones with a propensity to make kick ass colorful prints. Enter Design des Troy. Formed in 2006 by Samantha and Troy Design des Troy is a San Francisco based design group making beautiful hand printed cards and posters on a Gocco.

Do you believe in love at first sight? I do, and I am officially in love. At NeoCon I was literally dashing down hallway after hallway trying to find anything that caught my eye. While on one particularly boring floor, I was heading for an elevator when I caught a splash of color out of the corner of my eye. A quick glance over my shoulder stopped me dead in my tracks as I found myself staring at this amazing rug by Edward Fields. Pictures in no way do it justice, but it was absolutely stunning. In fact, the whole showroom was. Edward Fields has been around for a long time and has been used on amazing projects like the Glass House, TWA Flight Center, Hollyhock house, The White House, and hopefully someday, my house.

I'm still crossing my fingers for my Borough Furnace skillet from Kickstarter. In the meantime, I've got my eye on a new project. Wallplates are a functional light switch wall plate that give you a place to put your keys, mail, and other misc stuff that is looking for a home. You can be a backer for as little as $5, but $15 - $25 will get you the goods.

I mentioned earlier this week that DuPont™ Corian® sponsored a trip back to Chicago to look at some new things they are doing with DIRTT. While I was fairly familiar with Corian, I had never heard of DIRTT before. Put basically, DIRTT is a modular wall system that can be used in interior spaces. Because it is modular, it can be reconfigured in the future if needed. The big news was that you can now get it with Corian panels. I have a bit of a design crush on Corian lately, so for me this union translated to some really nice looking spaces. Check out my DIRTT photoset on flickr for some eye candy.

I also had a chance to do an architectural river tour and snapped some pictures of the city. You can see those photos HERE. If the trip doesn't sound amazing enough yet, I haven't even touched on NeoCon. I'm still sorting through those photos. Icing on the cake? The crew I was hanging out with was the best, and I'd like to give a shout out to fellow bloggers from Dwell, Core77, DsgnWrld, and Talkitect. I had a fantastic time hanging out with all of you.
Every now and then, West Elm has some decent MCM/Scandinavian-inspired furniture, so when I took a look at their Fall sneak peek, I was happy to see this little number. The Dumont Buffet has some enviable lines and a white/wood/metal combo that's irresistible. Add to that loads of storage space and this is one piece you'll definitely want to consider!

I like pretty things. I like smart things too. So 5 x 7 book that is independently published and based off design theories and practices of Piet Mondrian, El Lissitzky, Theo Van Doesburg and Mark Rothko all for $12. Now that's pretty smart.
5x7 is an independent publishing company started by Alex Fuller and Gabe Usadel created to produce their collaborative thoughts on design and art.

Remember screensavers? It's been years since I have thought about changing mine from the Apple default, but I'm happy to announce that I just installed this fantastic little app from Stefan Trifan. "The Weather, City Edition". Is a screensaver made for Mac OSX, which shows the weather for one city (Now, Today, Tomorrow) with beautiful custom weather icons, animation, time & date. The system is based on Yahoo Weather Forecast, with a minimalist concept (black and white) and wonderful typeface. Oh, and it's free.

Low tech, low tech indeed. This light is made from recycled cardboard and FSC certified paper, but its real appeal is its matchbox form: open or close to modulate the light! You can even place it on any of its sides, on the floor, on the table, or hang it on the wall. Sweet.
Available in yellow or orange.
