Casabella :: Measuring Cups
Casabella is known for their cool silicone kitchen tools, my favorite of them all being this set of two-in-one measuring cups! I mean, really. Form, function, and bright colors? I'm in.

I'm sure all of my savvy readers are ahead of the curve on this one, but I had never seen this Paulistano armchair until recently and I'm absolutely in love with it. It's certainly not new, it was designed by Paulo Mendes da Rocha in 1957, but it still looks so fresh. Unfortunately it's not cheap either, so it will have to go on the "classics I want to invest in" list.
A calendar and tea towel in one?? Oh, be still my beating heart! Artist and designer Avril Loreti (whose work I've gushed about a few times) recently released this painterly 2012 calendar just in time for gift-giving season. With splashes of color and gorgeous hand-drawn touches, this lovely looker is definitely at the top of my wish list!
Oh. My. GOLD LEAF EAMES SIDE CHAIR. Can you believe this thing?! I've been known to have mixed emotions about altering authentic classics*, but part of me really, really digs this metallic monstrosity masterpiece makeover. Mostly I just want to stare at it and feed it grapes while I whisper sweet nothings into its ear. What's your reaction?
Inspired by the hexagon candle holders Capree posted about a few days ago, I bring you concrete hexagon coasters. I honestly had no idea that you could get this fine of detail with concrete, but I think it's absolutely amazing. They are not just pretty either. The pattern serves as a conduit to wick away moisture from the bottom of the glass. That's smart.
These coasters may be the final cherry on top for my robot obsession! All I need now are some robot drinking glasses* and I'm set... for life.
A huge congratulations to Brandy the winner of a Parvez Taj print from the reclaimed wood series. Brandy is a long time lover of Parvez Taj and has even blogged about it on her own blog Mid Century Modern Love. Her favorite of the series is Casa del Herrero (shown above), of which she commented
I love it because I grew up near Mexico and it reminds me of all the vibrant colors in the palette of Mexican ceramics.
Sounds like her new print is going to a good home!
If you didn't win, you can still pick up a piece on Gilt, but hurry, they are starting to sell out.
I'm an absolute sucker for anything that House Ind does, especially if it involves something Eames. In conjunction with their latest project with Herman Miller Japan they have released some limited edition prints. I love the Asterisk Sakura prints shown above. Equally amazing is the short video they did below of the Eames LTR exhibt showing off their art work on the classic Eames wire base table.

Why 'Twice Twice', exactly? Well, each side of this minimalist time-telling beauty has its own clock face, which you can set to different times (or the same, you know, if you're OCD or something... or normal). It can also be mounted to the wall railway-style or set vertically on a flat surface. Two position options and, essentially, two clocks: Twice Twice! The "dot" part is pretty self-explanatory, right?
I've recently been helping a friend find and restore a vintage bar cart so I have barware on the mind lately. This simple Anton Decanter has subdued modern written all over it. While definetly more on the contemporary side than the MCM side I have a feeling it's clean lines would fit in just about anywhere. Designed in the UK, handmade in Poland.
Lekker Home has a whole bunch of equally swoonable glassware and decanters worth looking at too.
Modular candle holders handmade from solid cherry wood? Hand-poured beeswax tea lights?? YES PLEASE! These beauties are available in sets of 3, 6, or 9 from Etsy shop Pretty Dreamer. Snatch 'em up right here.
You know us, we're always looking for ways to sneak a little wool felt into our lives... May as well be woven and fantastic while we're at it! These cozy storage baskets are even available in three sizes, so they'll meet any of your entryway, home office, or craft room needs!
I'm getting more and more into the simple old world sort of products lately. Maybe it's a product of getting overloaded with all the shiny new modern things I blog about every day. The end result is I love all the mercantile and general stores that are popping up online. Typically they still have a reasonably modern aesthetic, just with a pared down simple material pallet. Brookfarm General Store is a good example of this. They have a wonderfully curated collection of homewares, some of which may look familiar. Check out some of my favorites below.
CB2 just released a bunch of new products for fall/winter, including this very handsome Dual Sectional. If you're feeling a bit of deja vu right about now, don't be alarmed. You're probably just having phantom memories of Gus Modern's Jane Bi-Sectional. It's totally normal. Though the difference in price is significant enough to possibly put those memories out of your head for good... maybe.
I'm admittedly pretty anal when it comes to time, so I'm thinking the About Time clock by Louie Rigano may be good for me. Either that, or I would be habitually late for work until I got fired.
This charming animal calendar is great for kids (of all ages!) and is available as a pdf download, so you can print as many as you like. I really love the illustration style, don't you??
Readers know what a big fan I am of Gilt.com. They curate an amazing collection of things I want to fill my home with. I'm excited this week to offer a sneak preview of one of next weeks sales, and to offer a giveaway for one of our readers!
It's obvious why Gilt chose to feature Parvez Taj on their website, his unique technique of using photographs, software, UV cured inks and a variety of substrates to create his artwork is amazing. His latest collection "Print on Reclaimed wood" adds an additional richness to his artwork.
The wood used for these art pieces is reclaimed Douglas Fur harvested from old buildings throughout Southern California. Each unique piece is of wood is hand selected by the artist... and then prepared by fine art craftsman for printing - no piece will look the same - making them truly one of a kinds.

Knife and Saw, makers of the fantastic bike shelf we featured last year recently relaunched their website. It's worth heading over there to check out some eye candy. I also noticed that besides their fantastic bike shelves they also have recycled cutting boards for sale. I look forward to seeing what other fantastic products comes out of their shop.
Concrete and steel are two great materials that belong together. It's not too often though that you see them used together to make a stool. Luckily Greta de Parry's execution looks flawless. I absolutely love the base design, and the idea that this stool would be just as happy indoors or out.
