Because sometimes it's the little things that count. If you've ever looked for a sturdy attractive coat hanger with a modern aesthetic, you know there isn't a whole lot out there. Especially if you are looking for something with a little color. The Wauli coat rack from PMCustom fits all those criteria, and it's available in a range of wonderful colors (and sizes). Plus as with everything on Etsy, you get the satisfaction of supporting small scale designers and craftsman.

I know, I know, I know... we haven't even celebrated Halloween yet. To be fair, it's only a few days away and hey, if you're going to order stuff for Christmas, you better do it now, right? Right?? Well, it sounds like a good plan to me, anyway. Plus, why would you want to wait any longer than you need to to have these perfectly modern Santas in your life? Santa mugs, Santa cookie jars, Santa pitchers, and Santa shakers... they want to be friends. So order 'em. Now. Before Halloween, even.
Rawr!
Really do I need to say anything more than that? Go buy the bottle already. Check out rcboisjoll's easy shop for more great bottles.

I love a good simple plywood chair, and that's exactly what the Aero kids chair from Sodura is. Available in a natural finish, or if you are feeling fancy coco or white, the Aero chair is an affordable and stylish place for your little guy (or girl) to take a seat.

These stackable, modular storage units from Housefish are the perfect solution for just about any space: use 'em as a media console, a bookshelf, you name it. They're available in a wide variety of colors and heights, with or without doors, and ship flat. Oh, and assembly is a breeze--all you need is a hammer. I'm sold!
For the mid-century enthusiast who has everything: a snow globe with atomic flair, complete with a Malm-inspired fireplace! What more could you ask for?
I love art repurposed out of vintage items especially books. I've seen some really cool stuff done with old books over the years but this one may take the cake. Lisa Occhipinti is a painter, book artist, and author based out of souther California. While I love all her work, her book mobiles are my favorite.
If you are thinking that these look like a great DIY project, you are absolutely right. Do yourself a favor though, and pick up her book "The Repurposed Library" which gives you step by step instructions on how to do this and other projects.

Casabella is known for their cool silicone kitchen tools, my favorite of them all being this set of two-in-one measuring cups! I mean, really. Form, function, and bright colors? I'm in.

I'm sure all of my savvy readers are ahead of the curve on this one, but I had never seen this Paulistano armchair until recently and I'm absolutely in love with it. It's certainly not new, it was designed by Paulo Mendes da Rocha in 1957, but it still looks so fresh. Unfortunately it's not cheap either, so it will have to go on the "classics I want to invest in" list.

A calendar and tea towel in one?? Oh, be still my beating heart! Artist and designer Avril Loreti (whose work I've gushed about a few times) recently released this painterly 2012 calendar just in time for gift-giving season. With splashes of color and gorgeous hand-drawn touches, this lovely looker is definitely at the top of my wish list!
It's not often that a brand is able to completely redefine itself, but I have been watching Stanley for the last couple of years, and it looks like they are firmly on the path. While they still have the nostalgic green thermos that we all love from our childhood, they are entering a much more sophisticated era or warm beverage containers. I was lucky enough to have a friend give me one of these white Nineteen13 thermoses a while ago, and I'm still head over heals in love with it. Not only does it look good, but it's super functional thanks to Stanley's strong investment in talented young product designers.

Oh. My. GOLD LEAF EAMES SIDE CHAIR. Can you believe this thing?! I've been known to have mixed emotions about altering authentic classics*, but part of me really, really digs this metallic monstrosity masterpiece makeover. Mostly I just want to stare at it and feed it grapes while I whisper sweet nothings into its ear. What's your reaction?
Inspired by the hexagon candle holders Capree posted about a few days ago, I bring you concrete hexagon coasters. I honestly had no idea that you could get this fine of detail with concrete, but I think it's absolutely amazing. They are not just pretty either. The pattern serves as a conduit to wick away moisture from the bottom of the glass. That's smart.

These coasters may be the final cherry on top for my robot obsession! All I need now are some robot drinking glasses* and I'm set... for life.
*If you do happen upon some robot glasses, send them my way and I will reward you with lollipops and eternal love.
A huge congratulations to Brandy the winner of a Parvez Taj print from the reclaimed wood series. Brandy is a long time lover of Parvez Taj and has even blogged about it on her own blog Mid Century Modern Love. Her favorite of the series is Casa del Herrero (shown above), of which she commented
I love it because I grew up near Mexico and it reminds me of all the vibrant colors in the palette of Mexican ceramics.
Sounds like her new print is going to a good home!
If you didn't win, you can still pick up a piece on Gilt, but hurry, they are starting to sell out.

Why 'Twice Twice', exactly? Well, each side of this minimalist time-telling beauty has its own clock face, which you can set to different times (or the same, you know, if you're OCD or something... or normal). It can also be mounted to the wall railway-style or set vertically on a flat surface. Two position options and, essentially, two clocks: Twice Twice! The "dot" part is pretty self-explanatory, right?
I've recently been helping a friend find and restore a vintage bar cart so I have barware on the mind lately. This simple Anton Decanter has subdued modern written all over it. While definetly more on the contemporary side than the MCM side I have a feeling it's clean lines would fit in just about anywhere. Designed in the UK, handmade in Poland.

Lekker Home has a whole bunch of equally swoonable glassware and decanters worth looking at too.
