I love a good credenza as much as the next guy, but I have a confession to make. Too many credenzas look exactly the same to me, they lack creativity. That's where LAPEL comes in. In a collaboration between Post 27 and Stone Blitzer, LAPEL has produced this Color Story credenza. It starts out like all good credenzas do, walnut veneer, good clean MCM lines, but then it adds a refreshing pop of color with the 4 lacquered doors. Amazing right?

I'm getting more and more into the simple old world sort of products lately. Maybe it's a product of getting overloaded with all the shiny new modern things I blog about every day. The end result is I love all the mercantile and general stores that are popping up online. Typically they still have a reasonably modern aesthetic, just with a pared down simple material pallet. Brookfarm General Store is a good example of this. They have a wonderfully curated collection of homewares, some of which may look familiar. Check out some of my favorites below.

You're probably just having phantom memories of Gus Modern's Jane Bi-Sectional. It's totally normal. Though the difference in price is significant enough to possibly put those memories out of your head for good... maybe.
I'm admittedly pretty anal when it comes to time, so I'm thinking the About Time clock by Louie Rigano may be good for me. Either that, or I would be habitually late for work until I got fired.

Knife and Saw, makers of the fantastic bike shelf we featured last year recently relaunched their website. It's worth heading over there to check out some eye candy. I also noticed that besides their fantastic bike shelves they also have recycled cutting boards for sale. I look forward to seeing what other fantastic products comes out of their shop.
Concrete and steel are two great materials that belong together. It's not too often though that you see them used together to make a stool. Luckily Greta de Parry's execution looks flawless. I absolutely love the base design, and the idea that this stool would be just as happy indoors or out.
The Series 001 Side Table designed by Brian Hanger is handcrafted from solid walnut and, to speak frankly, is sexy as hell. The Eames-style dowel legs (also walnut) are a nice hat tip and will certainly complement any Mid-Century pieces you may already own!
I have a lot of little obsessions in life, and bottle openers are definitely one of them. For some reason I am always looking for just the right one. I'm really liking the raw look of these bottle openers made by Adam Hogsett of 510 design and fabrication. Each one is manually machined from cold formed steel and hand stamped with the production number. The finish is a darkened steel with a thin coat of wax to prevent any rusting. The whole thing is only 3" long, so it's not too bulky, but I'm sure it has a very satisfying heft to it.
If you have ever looked for a hanging planter you probably know it's really really hard to find a good looking one. I'm going to go out on a limb here, and say that this Sphere planter by Tokyo Craft Studios is one of the best that I have ever seen. Hand made in Tokyo this little guy has it all, even a built in drain and reservoir to hold excess water. All that goodness can be yours for just $36.
Finally. Something for the decor-conscious Star Wars fan. Artist Brian Flynn has teamed up with Super7 to create a hand-screened, flocked, yes flocked, wallpaper called "Imperial Forces", successfully bringing Star Wars-themed rooms to a whole other level.
I don't usually write about jewelry, but I'm going to make an exception for this Lori Bracelet from EVRT Studio. It seems to have everything that is hot right now, raw wood, faceted surfaces and a healthy pop of color. Seems like a winner to me.
This isn't the first time that we've feature EVRT here on GRM. We had a little piece on their CIty Towels earlier this year.
OMG. That's about all I can say. I am so in love with this artwork from James Bills. It's an amazing combination of color and geometry that translates into pure eye candy. More goodness below.

A few weeks ago when I was in California, they were just starting to pack up the entire interior of the Eames house to move it to LACMA for an upcoming exhibit. The move is giving them a chance to do some much needed repairs on the home, as well as restore some of the precious items found inside. I came across this great time lapse of everything being carefully packed up. Pretty incredible to watch.
I love the idea of a inexpensive concrete pendent light. This one looks like it came out of a silicone mold, but I bet with a bit of ambition and some creativity you could come up with a similar DIY solution.
Almost 6 months ago one of my readers wrote to me looking for a source for a flat black watch. I did some googling around and came up empty handed, but I never forgot the challenge. Today I was delighted to find this sexy black silicone watch by Michael Kors. I've got sort of a thing for watches, and this one definitely get's me drooling. I'd love to see it in person to see how the silicone feels etc. Anyone have this watch, or know of any other good flat black watches?

Scaled down from 8 feet to 8 inches, they're perfect for storing everything from flour and sugar to office supplies. And, just like the real things, they're stackable to maximize precious shipyard countertop space.
I've been really into some of the more honest vintage products lately, so I hope you are hanging in there with me. Today's revelation is this fantastic canvas bushel basket from the museum of useful things. These canvas bags have a steel frame and leather binding at the top. While they look like they would be right at home in your local post office, I think that they would also be a fantastic contrast in a clean modern space. Measures 13 1/2" high and 17" wide.
