This compact 11″ diameter brushed steel lamp with frosted glass is a good deal at it’s normal retail price of $49. Lucky for us, it’s and even better deal at the current price of $19! I have a feeling that these won’t be sticking around for too much longer, so if you want one, I’d act fast.

Proof that good design always looks good, this stacking bin has been in production for more than 30 years. Designed by Castelli Farrieri for Kartell the Componibili is made of durable plastic and available in the traditional red, or the recently introduced silver. The units are easily stackable and require no hardware to keep them secured together. The 16.5″ diameter storage unit is available in either a 2 compartment or 3 compartment configuration, both of which are on sale for $48, a huge discount over the normal price. I just caught wind of this one last night. It looks like Henriksen Butler, Salt Lake’s local Herman Miller distributer, is having a warehouse sale. The majority of Henriksen Butlers clients are office related, so chances are that there wont be a whole lot of items from the Herman Miller Home line, but it’s worth checking out. According to the flyer the pricing is “extremely aggressive” which sounds good to me. I plan on swinging by this afternoon just before 5 to see what they have.

One of the best things about holidays (besides not having to go to work) are the sales. I just got word that Modernica will be having a 72 hour 4th of July sale on some of their Eames case study units. I am a huge fan of Modernica and all the original Eames pieces that they have. One of these days I might actually save my pennies and buy something from them.

While Crate and Barrel doesn’t usually have as many good modern products, every once in a while you can find some really nice stuff on their website. I’m really liking this Dane Pendant Lamp. At 11″ high and 18″ diameter, it’s a good sized lamp, perfect for over a dining room table. The Brazilian Sandalwood gives it a nice warm look that could soften up a space nicely. Regular pricing is $129, but it is currently on sale for only $79, which is a good deal. It includes a ceiling plate and translucent cord.

I have a thing for wooden baby toys. Maybe its because I grew up with them, or maybe I just like how simple they are, either way I’d take a wooden toy over a plastic one any day. It’s hard enough to find good wooden toys, but it’s even more hard to find ones that are made of sustainable woods. I love Muji. They have a way of simplifying everything and making it look good at the same time, something that is not always easy. This acrylic calendar is no exception. It features a grid and acrylic numbers that can be moved around depending on what month you are in. Sure, it’s going to take you a bit more time than flipping the page on the calendar your insurance company gave you, but I guarantee that it is going to be much more rewarding too. While we absolutely love our Nurseryworks Storytime Rocker and Arial Crib, we will be the first ones to admit that some ot their stuff isn’t the most affordable. It has been extremely durable however, and we still think its a good purchase, especially if you can find it on sale. Sparkability is having a big sale with 40% of many of their nurseryworks items. That makes the rocker shown above $480 instead of $800. The 3 wide dresser and 2 wide changing table are for sale, but additional shipping costs almost make it a wash. The best thing about the sale is they actually have a decent selection of colors left, so if you’ve been debating whether to get a quality rocker, now’s your chance.

I am always on the lookout for a good affordable and well designed wall clock. It’s hard to find a nice simple one for a good price, but this one from Well Dressed Home seemed to fit the bill. I liked the subtle contrast between the metal frame and the soft wood background. The clock is currently on sale for $24. I was pretty excited about it until I started reading the details. It looks like it is actually a faux cherry background and a hard plastic frame. So the question is, just because it’s fake, would you still want it? For me I think I may have to pass.
