Pigeon Toe Ceramics Spring 2010
08Mar10
I’ve been a fan of Pigeon Toe Ceramics since they first debuted in 2009. Each handmade piece is so beautiful, clean, and tactile. The new 2010 collection does not disappoint, either. Fromcolorful nesting bowls to hanging test tube vases, each product offers a fresh new approach to a very old and traditional medium.

Like all of Pigeon Toe products, these new pieces are infused with a sense of wit and charm. The faceted hanging tray is definitely my favorite new item in the collection. What’s yours?
Pigeon Toe Ceramics Spring 2010 Collection: $28 – $144

the faceted bowl is a copy of Kelly Lamb’s Geo Planter one among many other stolen ideas. Guess it’s one way to get big and popular quickly.
Jenny – I was not familiar with the geo planter until reading this post. It’s lovely. I would say that comparison is a stretch and they have only vague similarities. The aesthetic is completely different, and I’ve been making a variation of this idea since the company’s inception. It should be said that in our modern world making something truly original and unique rather than an interpretation is practically an impossible task. Similar does not mean a copy and all of us independent designers are just doing the best we can to make beautiful and interesting work in a world full of it. Thanks for your input, and for exposing me to a great designer I’ve never seen before!
