Plastolux cut glass bottles
Cut bottles are nothing new, I have seen a slew of them for sale from various shops over the years. What is unique about these particular ones is that I actually know the person who made them. My friend Tyler of Plastolux fame picked up bottle cutting kit and ended up with some amazing looking cups.

Being the good guy that he is, he shares all the tips he learned in case you want to do it yourself. If you are not up to the challenge, no problem, he is selling them for cheap on his Etsy shop. Don’t see the one you want for sale? I have a feeling that if you beg, cry and plead he would make a new one just for you.
Plastolux glass bottles available from Etsy for $9.

Creede, thanks for the shout out. The first batch is almost gone. I have another 20 or so in the works. I may offer custom designs but I have to find a cheaper place to get the thick vinyl cut. The thicker vinyl is the key to getting the high relief in the designs.
Tyler, these are great!
I have to admit I have been tempted by versions of these in the past, but it is unlikely I will ever buy them since kitchen storage is at such a premium we just don’t have room for anything that doesn’t stack/nest well.
April, I totally understand. When I made these I really just saw them as a place to put your toothbrush or a nice pen holder.
Ah, yes! Obviously I’m a literal thinker. A clear number-glass would be perfect on my desk at work! The plus-sign would be great in a bathroom for bandaids, q-tips, or cotton balls.
These made me think of the empty apple cider jug I have at home, that I have been hanging on to. Cut down, something that size/shape would make a great candy or chip bowl!
This is such an awesome idea… I never thought of doing the etching on them.
