I wasn't trying to be vicious or anything, it's just that the author asked us to share our thought on whether we think they are ground-breaking or not.

I like the designs (especially against the gloss red wall), but they're totally not ground-breaking at all.
I also just thought that the author was doing other light switch designs a disservice by passing them off like he does, then making out like these designs solve some sort of problem that other designs haven't been able to.
Now the Clapper light switch on the other hand, THAT is a ground breaking concept.

I don't know who spit in Kyle's cheerios, but these switches are awesomely fresh and delicious looking. Good work as always Japan. Please share more of your awesomeness with us out west.

I don't see this as fresh or ground-breaking in the slightest.
Wall switches have varied immensely over the years, I don't know why you say they have remained static. You can buy light switches in just about any shape, style or material possible (regular switches, to clapper, levers switches, push buttons, rubber-covered for high voltage areas, slide switches etc. etc.)

These designs are just another convenient option among the plethora of light switch options and designs already available, not fresh and groundbreaking.

Ah! You both are absolutely right. These would work wonderfully in wet environments and/or kitchens. Genius, you two. :)

Radical in the sense that flashlight switches have been this way for several decades.
Would be excellent in a wet (bathroom) or dirty (busy kitchen) environment though.
