Way Back When – 3602 Apollo

This weeks way back when is a mix of the old with the new…

This house is just down the street from mine, and I have been slowly watching it transform as Tyler works on it. He has done an amazing job making a fairly typical 50’s home look good. I didn’t know just how good until Tyler sent me some pictures of the interior and then I was literally speechless. I’m usually a fan of preserving mid century architecture in it’s original form, but this is one update that is both respectful of the original structure, and so much better than it ever was. The house has been completely gutted and redone on the inside, and the pool area in the back yard makes me feel like I am in Palm Springs again. This is a wonderful example of breathing new life into an old house. Ohh and did I mention it’s for sale? Anyone have $749,000 they want to give to me?

WOW! I am freeeeking drooling, If I had the dough I may be tempted to move back. Killer house!
My wife and I went and saw this house on Tuesday. Tyler has done a truly incredible job.
i live around the block-off apollo. they have done a nice re-do on the house. i really hope they get their asking price (busy road, limited views), it will be interesting to see what it goes for in today’s economy.
excellent finish and design work.
I’m speachless as well. Absolutely stunning just doesn’t seem to cut it.
Tyler was not he designer, this house was disigned by Patrick Davis and looks amazing! It looks like it is out of Houses magazine.
*Designed
I meant to spell designed. Thanks
Wow, this house is flippin’ awesome!
Wow this house looks amazing! Very modern and chic. I can’t even find any words to describe it. I love the shower
My question is, how did they paint they brick without painting the mortar? Is there some kind of paint that sticks to brick, but not mortar?
There are bricks in different colors, not only red
ha, mike, if you look at the before pictures the house was reddish brick. …unless they tore down all the bricks and re-built
Due credit should be given to the person who did the majority of the work and design on this: Patrick Davis. That should be prominently displayed in the write-up.
Its been mentioned a couple of times but the design/build was done by Patrick Davis. How come its not in the post….tell tyler to give credit where credit is due…..this happens way to much. PATRICK DAVIS PEOPLE!
I’d love to include some information about Patrick in the post. Anyone have a link to a website or some other contact information?
Please check your facts before you start typing. Just because you begin a project, it does not entitle you to any credit. Especially after you abandon the project (which lands you in court – due to many reasons I am sure each person here is unaware of) and every single thing you made has to be replaced and rebuilt because of poor craftsmanship. Really… credit?
This home is amazing as now only $699,999. That’s $50K less then when it was last posted. If only I lived near Salt Lake City.
