Modern stock house plans

I’ve been watching modern stock house plans on the internet for a while now. For a long time architect Greg La Vardera was the only decent source, but yesterday I was reading my friends post over at TheArchitectureProgram.com and was surprised to find that there are quite a few decent modern stock plans out there. Houseplans.com had the biggest variety of modern plans with prices ranging from $400 to over $4,000. Of course if money is an issue, make sure you check out Free Green who has some great contemporary house plans that are absolutely free.

Thanks for the mention of Houseplans.com. We are working hard to provide better contemporary plans, including our Flexahouse, historic work by Sea Ranch architect William Turnbull, and solar architect David Wright. More to come so stay tuned.

Do most of these stock plans also include a build-cost estimate? That would be a huge help.

Also, for those who do not know. Daniel Gregory (above) is a former long-time editor at Sunset magazine and author of the recent book on architect Cliff May so he comes from a great background to be spearheading Houseplans.com.
