Bocci 22 – phase 1

One of the things that I am really excited to do in our new kitchen is install our Bocci 22 outlets. I had seen these outlets a long time ago on Apartment Therapy, and loved the look of them. We had one spot in our kitchen that necessitated us putting an outlet in a very visible space, and we wanted to pretty it up a little. A phone call to our local Bocci dealer revealed that these beautiful minimalist outlets weren’t too expensive. We ended up getting single outlets (just one plug) on accident, but I think it will turn out alright. Our price was $16 each, which isn’t too bad in the grand scheme of things. One of the most expensive parts was the tool that you need to be able to remove the outlet part from the box which was $40. I had a chance to do phase 1 of the install last night so I snapped some pics. Everything went pretty smooth, and I can’t wait to see what they look like after the drywaller comes today.

Love these! I think the single outlet look is kinda neat!
These are great. I’ve actually got a picture of them as my desktop.
those might be the best solution i’ve ever seen to the two things i hate most about any living space: electrical outlets and electrical cables. most of mine are exterior to the walls, as well, which makes them even more annoying. despite my loathing, they’re a little lower on my priority list to recess, since i’ll have to cut up the walls and do some drywalling, mudding and then have to paint the whole place, so they have to wait for more important things to be done first.
ah! I’ve been thinking about these ever since I saw them on AT (or was it “not martha”..) how cool to see someone using them in real life – I can’t wait to see how they turn out –
These outlests are really cool. I would buy them if I see in a shop. Although the price is quite expensive for outlets, but what you wont buy for minimalism… =)
Those are so cool. Can you really use them in the US?

Yeah, but will it blend?
Thankyou for showing this to me. Those Bocci outlets are beautiful, which store did you buy them from? Thankyou E. Sheckter
Oh, these are fantastic! Wish we would have known about these sooner! The drywall and texturing are all finished now.
We got ours from the light spot in salt lake city, but you could check bocci’s website to see your local distributer.
Considering that we’re not allowed to do electrical junctions in a non-accessible location, I’m confused how this gets past code. I can see how the plug itself and it’s junctions would be accessible, but the wire nuts in the box aren’t going to be accessible, are they?
Chad, technically I think that you could access the wire nuts if you had to, although I’m not sure how easy it would really be….
I just contacted my local Bocci dealer in Scottsdale, they claim that their lawyers refused to let them sell the Bocci 22. He had a 5 minutes rant about why he thought they were dangerous. Strange! Can I get the name of your local dealer, maybe I can convince them to ship me ten?
