As we get closer to actually putting our kitchen back together, the accessories are starting to roll in. One of the first things that we bought for our new kitchen was a sink. In our old home we had a large single bowel kitchen sink that we loved. Since our little family is still growing, one of the criteria’s for a kitchen sink for us is that it has to be large enough that we can give a baby a bath in it. Our new sink made by Vigo fits the bill perfectly both for style and functionality. We found it on overstock for $449, which is a fair amount of money, but a huge deal compared to the Franke sink that it is copying which retails for a shocking $1,800. Upon receiving it, we are super impressed with the quality of it. The 16 gauge 304 stainless is padded and undercoated to keep the noise down, and the overall look is great.

I really like the idea of one large sink, but having always had divided sinks I have what may be a stupid question: If you are hand-washing dishes, where do you rinse them? It seems that rinsing into the same sink bowl as you wash each one would only dilute the soapy water, but putting them aside until the end would mean having to scrub again as you rinse to get off any dried soap residue.

That looks to be the same sink we purchased on ebay for $250 from this store:

The sink is model T5131. We have been very happy with it. It has the same padding and undercoating described in the post above.

That’s a good looking sink. And after all the ugly ones I saw at home depot for $300, $499 doesn’t sound too bad.

I just started looking at sinks and have a question. What are other good sink retailers out there? I have a 22″x33″ beige porcelain(?) dual sink which I’d like to replace with a single stainless steel sink so I can wash my baby in it. The current sink is above the countertop, so I need a top mount sink, correct? Unfortunately overstock.com did not have any cool top mount ones.

ayse, you could try ebay. I know that is where the 100k house is getting theirs too.

What was the reason for the one you chose over this:

Specs seem to match up, did you dig deeper to find separation? For those hunting, here is another similar option:

Honestly all three of the sinks linked to in the comments here look like the exact same sink that we got, but for much better prices. I was just stoked to not be paying $1,800 I kinda stopped looking….

Actually I found a website that offers similar items and some of the prices are better.
