House

Speaking of houses, I love this house from Sparkability. OK, so its basically just a big white cardboard box, and you could probably make something just as cool for a whole lot less money ($45- ouch). What I do love about it is that someone realized that sometimes the box is more fun than the toy, so they are just selling the box. House is extra sturdy, and made of recycled carboard. House is white, so it’s up to you to decorate it the way you like.
I would love to see pics of some homemade modern cardboard houses. If anyone has any, or is up to the challenge of getting a refrigerator box and making one, send them my way. I’ll post them here for everyone to see!

Available from Sparkability for $45. (or make your own for free :) )

I also like that fact that when your kids have outgrown this, you can just recycle it. Unlike other big, and/or plastic kids furniture that is hard to throw away (my city won’t pick up things that won’t fit in the trash can) and will sit in a landfill forever. I recently picked up a sturdy cardboard kids table/chairs for that reason…
That house is darn cute though. Love the window and door flaps.

I built a castle for my son a few months ago. he loves to play in it, when he doesn’t want to play anymore he gets into the castle and looks at his books.

I built the castle from a recently purchased tv and vacuum boxes. Everything else was in the house already.

    have a look

That’s so funny that I read your post– I just made a cardboard house for my 2.5 yo out of the EXcellent cardboard box that our Cherner chair came in. New to the list– how do I send you a pic?
