Its going to cost up a little over $1500. A big part of that cost is materials though. Our breaker panel is about 60' feet away from our service panel, and the wire to connect the two is a couple dollars a foot. Ouch.

What did the panel/meter upgrade cost for labor? We need to get our service updated, and the quotes we're getting seem really high.

Thanks for the advice Chad.

We passes the power to panel inspection! Yeah! Unfortunately the yahoo didn't call me so I could let him in for the rough electrical inspection :( so he will have to come back today for that.

Running wires ahead of time does make a lot of sense, but don't forget to seal up the holes when you insulate. No need to be unneccessarily open. When renovating our bathroom, we ran some extra wires in the temporarily open walls. In addition to Cat5e and Cat6, we ran 14-4 stranded wire for speakers and some 12-2 for future electrical branches. Cat5 is crazy cheap, but the 12-2 and 14-4 was pretty expensive, but running wires is so difficult afterwards (relative to how hard you THINK it should be).
