Outdoor LED Lighting?

10Apr07

200704100648I am looking for some good outdoor wall mounted LED lighting, something similar to what is shown in this picture. They will be placed every 8 feet or so along the outside of the house to light the courtyard. The one shown here is from a UK store, and I would really prefer something stateside. I know that there must be some good ones out there. Do you guys have any good ideas? As usual, affordable would be nice!

I’ve been looking for something like that myself. Here’s a couple ideas that I’ve come across:

These ones are awful purty, but they look commercial/expensive:

    Not bad…no idea on price:

These are cheap and workable, though their white bodies aren’t as sexy as the aluminum/stainless ones.

The samples look nice but from your description on mounting and ultimatly your goal of lighting the courtyard I do not believe you will be happy. The leds at the source are extremely bright and with out a diffuser or unique placement they will be very distracting. The eye will be drawn to them and bleeching will take place, leaving the court yard with very bright hot spots and contrast in dark areas. Tranquility and safety will be lost. I believe leds are the only way to go for all the right reasons, green power status, long life, colors or color temperatures, and discrete. Its the package design from the samples that is not user friendly. If done right with the correct package you should realize beautiful tranquility in the court yard with increased visibility for safety.

Dawnaus, they will be placed down low, they shouldn’t be too distracting I don’t think.

My Husband got a similar light like this at Home Depot and rewired it for 110. The lights are good for 60,000 hours and we mounted it on top of a roch Gazebo outdoors . We are looking for different LED outdoor lights our selves as Not to have to change bulbs and they stay cool to the toucch!
