I’ve been a long time fan of Modest Mouse, and have almost all of their albums. They recently released a new one that I haven’t had an opportunity to listen to yet. It’s called “We were dead before the ship even sank”. I was wondering if there were any other Modest Mouse fans out there who had listened to it, and could give some feedback if it’s worth buying or not?

I really like the album. It’s really listenable but not to over the top like a lot of albums have been lately. There is a good mix of fast and slow songs and the band seems to have got a lot better in the last couple of albums. Plus jonny marr from the smiths is in the band now.
Definately worth buying! An excellent album for MM.
It’s Catchy but but still raw with some of the songs feeling a bit more connected to his side project (Ugly Cassanova). Give it a couple spins for sure!!!
Funny I came across this as I am listening to the album at this very moment. I just got it today and I’m giving it my second listen. Definately worth having.
I’ve been listening to it all week and am loving it more and more. It’s much more musical and less lyrical than earlier Modest Mouse but a great album nonetheless.
I really ( I mean really ) didn’t think much of it the first couple of times that I had it in. But it has grown on me like…well something really bad and nasty.
I hope to catch them when they hit Greensboro NC in May.
