More tiles and more walls
I finally finished setting all the tiles in the bathroom, thanks to my stepdad who came down on Saturday to help. We spent almost 9 hours straight on Saturday setting tile. I just have a couple of small little trim pieces to put up, and then I have to grout and caulk the whole thing. Besides that, the list of things to do in the bathroom is quickly shrinking. We have one more light to install, and a fan. We also need drawers for the vanity and trim for the door and it will be all done.
As far as the addition, they put up a couple more walls yesterday, including the walls that connect into our existing house. Today I think they will probably do roof joists, and hopefully some exterior sheathing.

I love the way you did the tile! I definitely think that the subway tile in a straight pattern (not bricked) gives a much more modern look!. I too will be tiling myself. Did go to HD with my wife to buy up tile, but they had a ton of it, and I asked and this is a stock item. It was about $1.63 sq foot at HD (in Central Florida). I will be doing one bath that way (my existing bathroom, which is now in 50’s yellow tile!! Probably a dark floor, and maybe some glass tile accents. The 1/2 bath upstairs will be one wall in red glass mosaic, gray walls for the rest with the gray/silver floor. Concrete counter for sink (DIY!!) and vessel sink and modern tap. Have been SCOURING the area and web for good tile at a good price. Glass mosaic in a really good color and thickness/quality I found for about $7-8 sq ft delivered. Same with glass subway tile (6 x 3). Doing back of bar in this!
How much space did you leave for grout on the subway tile?? I want absolutely minimal, and want to find a way to have it even and straight (have been racking my brain, thin piece of stainless, thin piece of plastic, thin piece of wire.

Chichi, The subwaytile have a pillowed edge, so you just butt one tile against the other. No spacers needed. It makes putting them up lots easier, and gives a consistent small grout line.

My boyfriend and I have recently bought a house in the UK, the bathroom is very small and also considered the Japanese deep Soak Bath Tubs ( ofuros). I am most impressed with your handy approach in making your own bath tub and DIY in the bath room too.
I have a quick question, would you be considering tiling the inside of the tub aswell as the edges?

I did think about tiling the inside, but I was worried about it being water tight. Thats why I decided to use metal, because I knew it would be water tight. Now that I have done a little more tile work, I don’t think I would hesitate to do it in tile instead. As long as you used a one piece pvc membrane I don’t think leaking would be a concern.
