I think you're also supposed to wrap insulation around the pipes and tape it in place.

Good question Brennan, I don't think it is a problem if you do it right. I had a pipe in an exterior wall freeze this winter. It was going to my washer. I ended up riping the drywall off to get to it, and discovered that there was no insulation in that part of the wall. I think as long as you insulate well between the exterior and your pipe you will be ok.

This may seem like a weird question, but is there any concern about putting a shower head on an outside wall? My friend and I have been working on a new bathroom and we worried about freezing issues with the plumbing on an outside wall. The flow of the bathroom would be much better if we could do it, but we're concerned. Any comments?

Thanks Bruno. The dog was about $50 a square foot. He's a designer mutt, aka goldendoodle.

Sage,

Don't worry, you didn't miss much. I love hex tiles too, you should check out penny rounds, they are even more arts and crafts, and very cool. The hex's come in 1' x 2' sheets, so it is pretty easy to work with. I got it at a American Olean Tile 2922 S 300 W, Salt Lake City ph# (801) 466-9736.

Hi, Sorry I missed the big tiling weekend, but with little AJS in tow, not much help and R down for the count with elbow tendinitis and prolotherapy! Looks absolutely amazing and I am going to look up the floor tile. I have always loved that design, you see it a lot in old arts and crafts homes and I think they make it in a little bit bigger size for my kitchen. How was it to work with? Did you buy it locally?

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. At this point we'll just be glad to take a shower no matter what the bathroom looks like.

The floor tiles were from American Olean, the wall from Dal Tile.
