Nurseryworks are definitely beautiful, but $800-$900 is not "not pricey" in my book. Of course I am a huge cheap-o.

We just had our first baby three weeks ago and based on our experience, I wouldn't get that chair. The arms are just too sharp and like julielion said, arms often get in the way for feeding. We had a lot of advice to get a glider or a rocker, but I sometimes find rockers distracting and wanted to get us something that would also work if mom or baby didn't feel like rocking all the time.

We opted for the Poang chair from Ikea. It has just the right amount of bounciness to it, the arms are low, wide and flat without sharp edges, the cushions are easily replaced, and it's much cheaper than anything else. If you're burping the baby over your shoulder and she spits up all over the chair, so what. It's easy to clean, you can afford to buy a new cushion of your cleaning job didn't work out.

Here are some photos of our nursery:

That's such a nice rocker! I agree the arms look a little scary. If we have another baby, I'm going to just get one of the armless fiberglass rockers from modernica. I know it's been "done to death" but I'm on the tall side and I found it nearly impossible to nurse a baby in any chair with arms. When my son was a newborn, I was using a wood rocker my dad made for me, and I made my husband take the arms off. :)
