I have always been a fan of felted wool. It brings a soft natural feel to whatever environment that it is used in. This placemat is made from 100% merino wool, felted and then cut into clean rectangles. They are manufactured by Daff, a German company, and part of a whole set of modern table accessories. They are available in dark grey or grey, and cost $29 for a set of 4 each (thanks kate for the correction). Just what you need to soften up your table top.
