Border Wallpaper-by-Numbers
Border Wallpaper-by-Numbers isn’t new to the blog scene, it got a fair amount of coverage a while ago, but it is new to the MoMA Store. These whimsical and stylish 6″ borders would look great in a kids room. The borders come in three different colors and pattern, and include paint by number style graphics. You can go ahead and fill them in with paints or colored pencils, or you could just leave them the way they are. $20 will get you 20 feet of 6″ high border.
Available from MoMAstore.
katrinakaye

I don’t do too much here on fashion, but this is one I just couldn’t pass up. Katrinakaye over at Etsy has made a lovely union of original Mid-Century Scandinavian prints and good old sturdy army messenger bags. The result is a wonderful collection of one of a kind bags that are as affordable as they are original. Katrinakaye lives in Amsterdam, but fortunately shipping is very reasonable on these bags. Most sell for around $30 and ship for around $7, which is a great deal for the sturdy stylish bag you are getting. So far the feedback on these bags has been very positive. She should have a webpage coming soon, so stay tuned for more news.
Check out her Etsy page for all her great bags.
Birdz

No, it’s not a modern version of Alfred Hitchcocks spooky 60’s movie, its another great product from the guys over at Furni. They have launched a brand new store, and have a couple of great new things, including Birdz. Currently on preorder, these modern wall hangings show Furni’s ability to break the mold of their typical style, and push their creative edge. For $38 you get three acrylic wall mountable silhouettes of a bird that look totally fly (sorry couldn’t resist) cruising across your wall. We can’t tell you how much we love the stuff that these guys do. We think that they have really embraced a great vision, and hope that they have tons of success. Helping to support guys like Mike and Devin is exactly why we started this website six months ago.
Get them straight from the source at the new Furni store.
Marli Bottle Opener
While $18 is a little much to pay for a stainless steel bottle opener, you have to admire the simplicity of this little guy. Named the Marli bottle opener, it was designed by Steven Blaess for Alessi, this top popper measures just over 2″ squared. If you can’t live without one, drop by Moss Online, and get yours today.
Available at Moss Online for $18.
Brown Twig Notepad

I am constantly looking for a place to write down little notes to myself. I finally got a dedicated notepad to sit next to my computer so that I wouldn’t have a million little pieces of paper sitting around with phone numbers and addresses and such on them. My notepad is nowhere as nice as this one however. Fresh from Sprout Home, this Brown Twig Notepad is silk screened with hand mixed inks. The cover features nothing else than a brown twig, and each of the 100 heavy weight white pages has a slim green design down its side. Just the thing to add a little order to your life.
Available from Sprout Home for $15.
Bean Vases

Here is a great post from the good people over at Better Living Through Design. It was too good of a find to not pass along.

Happy Valentines Day!
Happy Valentines day to all you modern lovers out there! I hope you all took the time to honor that special someone in your life with some words of kindness. As for me, in case you all didn’t know, I have the most wonderful and beautiful wife in the world. It’s hard to find something as special as she is to let her know how much I love her. This year, I took a trip to Cactus and Tropicals, one of our favorite plant nurseries, and got her some green goodness. We got over the whole cut flowers a long time ago. Living plants are just so much better. Pics of the new greenies after the jump.Read more
Fashion Plate Set
If you are a big fan of the retro mid-century modern look, then you will love these plates. These classic modern prints were designed by Charles S. Anderson of Popink. Printed on melamine plates these make a perfect casual dinner plate, that is totally dishwasher safe (but not microwave friendly). Each set comes with four different colored plates, each one as groovy as the last. It looks like Elsewares only carries one design, which happens to be my favorite, but if you are looking for variety head on over to Popink. Popink not only has a bunch of other designs, they have a wonderful collection of royalty free, and rights managed designs and prints that any MCM geek would swoon over.
Fashion Plate sets available from Elsewares for $40.
Gallery Carafe

I don’t know what this carafe has to do with a gallery, but Crate & Barrel was right on when they described this Gallery Carafe as “… sculptural minimalism”. Simple and elegant this carafe is just the thing to fancy up your kitchen, whether you are using it for a fine wine or kool aide for the kids. It is handblown in Slovakia, which sounds pretty fancy if you ask me. The price is pretty right on too, only $19.
Available from Crate & Barrel.
ActionSampler=Lomographic
I stumbled into this genre of photography a while ago, and thought that it was some crazy fun looking stuff. I almost forgot about it until I saw this ActionSampler Camera over at Unica Home. It is a Lomographic camera (see link if you don’t know what that is) that takes a four picture series on one print. With a little creativity these little cameras can produce some amazing photos. They are reasonably priced too at only $30. I was impressed by the overall form of the camera too, very modern!
There are some of my favorite pics from lomography.com after the jump.
